Redwood Dam

Push California, USA
Redwood Dam

Key Positions

Dam Catwalks

Elevated catwalks and platforms on the dam structure; provide commanding sightlines over the push path

Forest Path

Tree-lined section of the push route; provides natural cover and flanking opportunities

Industrial Buildings

Dam maintenance buildings along the push path; provide interior cover and elevated positions

Mega Health Pack (Generator Room)

Located inside the dam generator room; critical sustain resource during fights on the dam

Dam Surface

Open flat surface of the dam; extremely exposed with long sightlines in both directions

Overlook Platform

High platform overlooking the dam and forest transition; a key position for controlling the area

Attack Strategy

Push the robot along the dam and forest paths by controlling the elevated dam structures and tree-lined routes. Use the industrial dam buildings for cover and high ground while escorting the robot forward. The open dam area provides long sightlines for poke compositions while the forested sections offer cover and flanking routes for dive and brawl. Coordinate speed boost pushes through the open sections to minimize exposure to enemy snipers. Take the high ground on the dam catwalks before committing to pushes.

Defense Strategy

Hold the dam catwalks and elevated industrial platforms to control the long sightlines across the dam area. Use the dam buildings as cover and rotation paths between defensive positions. In the forested sections, use the trees and terrain for natural cover while setting up crossfire angles on the push path. Contest the robot from elevated positions on the dam rather than fighting at ground level on the dam surface. The industrial structures provide strong hold positions that are difficult for attackers to contest without coordinated dives.

Recommended Comp

Mixed composition adapting to the section. Poke with Sigma and ranged DPS on the open dam sections. Dive or brawl through the forested sections where cover is more available. Soldier 76 and Hanzo provide consistent damage across both terrain types. Ana and Lucio for healing and speed boost through the open areas.

Hero Picks

Soldier: 76 — Consistent damage on the open dam area; sprint helps rotate between the dam and forest sections
Widowmaker — Dam surface provides some of the longest sightlines on any push map; dominant on the open sections
Winston — Can leap between the dam catwalks and industrial platforms to contest high ground
Ana — Long-range healing from the elevated dam positions; anti-nade is strong in the open areas
Lucio — Speed boost through the exposed dam sections is essential; wall ride on the industrial structures

Tips & Tricks

  • The dam surface is extremely exposed; never cross it without your team or use speed boost to minimize exposure
  • The forest sections provide much more cover than the dam; adjust your composition if you are struggling on the open sections
  • Dam catwalks are the strongest positions on this map; contest them on attack and hold them on defense
  • The generator room mega health pack is centrally located; controlling it gives sustain advantage for nearby fights
  • Widowmaker on the dam catwalks can control the entire open section; if she is uncontested you need to switch to dive
